Chess is a turn-based 2-player strategy game that countries from all over the world know and play. It is so popular that it is even played at the professional level. It originated in 6th century India where the game was created to simulate warfare. It spread to Persia and then to Europe developing it into the game it is today. The goal of the game is to checkmate your opponent's king. This is generally accomplished by certain strategies and taking the opponent's pieces.The game progresses with the players taking turns moving their pieces and capturing their opponent's until a game-ending condition is reached, like a checkmate. There are 6 different types of pieces that all move differently, which make almost every game unique.
